Flea and Tick Season Is Here!

Flea and Tick Season

Flea and Tick Season is here! After the long, wet winter, hopefully spring is here and the warm summer days are not far behind. But with warmer weather come those pesky fleas and ticks!

When you board your pet with us, we request that your pet be treated with a topical flea preventative starting in spring all the way through our first heavy frost.

Here are some of the treatments we recommend and approve at Pets Are Inn:

Approved Topical
  • Advantage
  • First Shield
  • Frontline
  • Frontline Plus
  • K9Advantix
  • Pet Armor
  • ProMeris
  • Revolution
  • Top Spot
  • Vectra3D

Not Approved Topical
  • Bio Spot
  • Capstar (for emergency)
  • Hartz
  • Program
  • Sentinel
  • Spot On
  • Sentry Pro
  • Trifexis

Also, I just heard of a product called Zero Bug Zone - It is a tag that you put on your pet’s collar that is all natural and will not harm your pet. Some of the reviews are great so you may want to check out their website. And it repels all kinds of pests!

Sometimes “big box” warehouse stores offer the recommended products on sale…check out the expiration date! Last year my neighbor bought some and ended up with fleas. She discovered that the product was beyond the expiration date! So much for saving money…..and still getting fleas!
